Want to know
more about our work We are very willing and able to offer speakers who can share their experience of working as a volunteer. The Chaplain is also available for midweek talks, to lead worship or give the Address at Sunday worship. We are always looking for suitable volunteers to cover the many duties which are required to run Lightship 2000. Would you like to serve in the Galley, or be part of a maintenance team? Do you see yourself as a Steward welcoming the many visitors we have on board or can you offer administration or computer skills? These are just some of the gifts and abilities we are looking for. God calls the Church to mission and evangelism in all areas of life. In Cardiff Bay this means speaking prophetically to those in power, affirming the dignity of each individual caught up in and affected by the "grand plan", and standing along side those who live, work and visit the area. Lightship 2000 is a visible expression to the "good news" of Jesus Christ precisely where the contemporary materialistic values are being confidently affirmed. For further information about Lightship 2000 please contact the Ecumenical Chaplain or Operations Manager e-mail admin@lightship2000.org.uk Help is need to keep us afloat The Helwick LV14 provides an exciting Ecumenical venture in which nearly all the churches in Wales are working together. The task of converting the vessel to her new role, now nearing completion, has been very demanding on our limited resources as we seek to realise our dream. The project needs assistance in several ways. The vessel still requires partial restoration, constant upkeep and, of course, volunteer helpers to run it. If you are interested in: working on the Lightship, wish to act as a tour guide, helping to raise money for restoration and maintenance, helping to publicise it or just require further information then please contact the Operations Manager e-mail admin@lightship2000.org.uk We therefore invite you to become a Friend of Lightship 2000 by making a monthly/quarterly/ annual donation by standing order, cheque or cash. Lightship 2000 is a registered charity so a donation can be covenanted without any extra cost to the individual. We are also able to offer our Friends scheme on a corporate basis to businesses, churches, firms and organisations. All Friends will receive a regular copy of our newsletter, information about our events, priority use of our facilities and, where appropriate, the services of the Chaplain in matters pastoral and spiritual. We have a target to make 2000 friends in the next five years. Do you know anyone else who may be interested in becoming a Friend of Lightship 2000? If so, forms are available. Further information, regarding our work, can be obtained from the Ecumenical Chaplain
